What is a cookie?
A cookie is a file that websites transfer to computers that connect to them. While often the purposes of the cookies are just technical, they can also allow, among other things, store and retrieve information about browsing habits of a user or your computer, depending on the information they contain and how who uses your computer, used to recognize the user. There are cookies that are controlled and managed by the proprietor of the Web (own cookies) and others which are the third party, for example, because they provide a tool or integrated into the Web a functionality. Some cookies are canceled once the web surfing (session cookies) while others may follow stored on the users computer and be accessed for a longer period (persistent cookies).
